Verified views can be invaluable for planning applications and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA). To understand the potential effect of a scheme on an area the planning authority very often require a highly accurate verified view is particularly where the project is deemed as having a significant impact on the natural surroundings.

 

The visual representation provided is achieved by combining a 3D model with photographs but with the added verified accuracy, by precisely locating camera positions and building points with 3D coordinates.

To obtain the correct results there are a number of stages prior to producing your finished image for your client.

​

• High resolution photography is taken from different locations around the area of interest. When these photos are being taken the position of the camera, angle and lens type are recorded for use in the post production.

• The surveyors attend site and position around 8-10 points per photo and the camera position. Whilst on site the surveyors tie the photos into OS Grid by GPS or a previous survey whichever is required by the client.

• After returning from site the surveyors will produce a report showing the x,y,z of each point. The points will be marked on the photos with a reference number linked to the report. They will also produce a 3D drawing file which shows the position of all the points and the camera locations.
