Our panoramic rapid imaging iSTAR and Spheron HDR cameras capture 360º full spherical immersive images and high resolution panoramic data for a wide variety of applications.

SUMO Services can provide 360˚ full spherical immersive and high resolution images from both the iSTAR and Spheron High Dynamic Range (HDR) panoramic cameras. Both cameras provide efficient visual documentation of an environment for a wide range of applications. SUMO Services can provide the processed 360˚ panorama imaging as well as end solutions including virtual reality tours, video or image overlay onto a 3D model or colour point cloud.

What are the benefits of the iSTAR?

Ease of use and zero set up time - Zero set up time and with one-button capture, it's rapid imaging capture and ease of use either indoors or outdoors makes it ideal for jobs needing a quick turnaround.

Fast, accurate and precise - iSTAR is accurate and fast at capturing images with typical capture times of 2 to 3 seconds.

Multiple applications - iSTAR can be tripod, vehicle or aerial mounted making it suitable for a wide range of applications. These include Geographical Information Systems, (GIS), military, law enforcement, media, RGB Overlay for LiDAR imaging, time-lapse imaging, 360 VR tours, surveying and mobile mapping.

Full product suite - SUMO Services has the full range of NCTech iSTAR products and the experience to provide a comprehensive service with a fast turnaround. Data is uploaded to the iSTARshare cloud based distribution service for quick and easy access.

What are the benefits of the Spheron

The Spherocam HDR is the first camera able to measure real-world luminosity values from the darkest shadow areas through to the brightest sunlight - with a single scan operation. This camera bridges the gap between the real world and computer graphics. The Spherocam HDR is slightly slower and a bit more expensive at capture than the iSTAR, however the quality is high, making it ideal for applications needing an extensive level of detail.

Ideal applications

  • Film, 3D visual effects and CGI.

  • 360 virtual reality tours.

  • Games and entertainment industry e.g. creation of virtual sets to play games at real locations.

  • Automotive and comparable industries e.g. product visualisation within design and marketing; validation of shapes, surfaces and materials; marketing deliverables before products exist.

  • Architectural planning and surveying e.g. pre-visualisation, visual inspection of construction sites and renovation projects.
