Sales Support Administrator 

SALARY: £8.00 - £10.00 per hour (dependent upon experience), plus potential bonus.
LOCATION: Havant Head Office
HOURS: Part time and flexible, subject to a minimum of 20 hrs hours per week to be worked between 9.30am and 3pm.

As a Sales Support Administrator working within the Contracts Department, your role will primarily focus on telephone communications with a wide variety of customers.   As such, your day-to-day responsibilities in this busy and challenging role will include: 

  • Proactively following up quotes and enquiries with a view to securing orders.
  • Updating and maintaining the customer CRM database.
  • Liaising with all departments with regard to delivery timescales.

As an enthusiastic, motivated and proactive Sales Support Administrator, you will be someone who is able to work independently, possesses strong admin skills and pays attention to detail, with the self-confidence and communication skills needed to help the team convert enquires into sales.

Ideally you should also have experience using a CRM system for logging quote details, good computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office; including Word, Excel and Outlook), and a solid foundation in English and mathematics.

The ability to communicate with our customers professionally and effectively is essential, however product / industry knowledge is not a requirement as we will provide ongoing training and support.

Your key qualities should include: -

  • An all-round communicator with an excellent telephone manner / call handling skills.
  • Quick to learn and able to work on your own initiative.
  • Well organised and able to prioritise your own work load.
  • A team player who understands the importance of shared targets and objectives.

Geophysical Field Survey Assistants


SALARY: £17,600 - £19,500 p/a
LOCATION: Midlands office - Upton upon Severn and Northern Office – Thornton, Bradford
HOURS: 3 Month Temporary Contracts from September 2017 possibly leading to permanent position

To assist in the carrying out of geophysical surveys and collection of survey data for archaeology & engineering.

Working in outdoors conditions all year round.

Full driving licence is essential. Work is undertaken nationally so extended periods of staying away from home may be involved. Hotel and subsistence costs will be paid.

Full training will be given.

Archaeological Geophysicist

SALARY: £19,000  -  £24,000
LOCATION: Midlands office - Upton upon Severn and Northern Office – Thornton, Bradford
HOURS: Permanent, 40 hrs / week
START DATE: ASAP (hence early applications welcomed)  

Qualifications Preferred: Degree in Archaeology, Archaeological Sciences or related subject.
An MSc in Archaeological Prospection, or similar, would be advantageous for the Experienced positions. Full training given.
CIfA membership welcomed, as are holders of CSCS cards.

Role: Carrying our geophysical surveys primarily using Bartington and Geoscan instruments, plus Trimble GPS survey equipment.
Occasional utility detection work / building and topographic surveys etc.

The post is field based, but suitable candidates will become involved in data processing, interpretation and report writing. All posts require a willingness to work outdoors in all weathers, in small teams staying away from home throughout the UK.
Applicants need to be able to undertake these duties.

Accommodation (hotel/B&B/pub) and subsistence provided when working away from base.
Permanent posts will qualify for Pension Enrolment and 33 days paid holiday (inclusive of Public Holidays).

Near Surface Geophysicist

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the SUMO group for a near surface geophysicist to help lead and grow our engineering and environmental geophysics department. The ideal candidate will have experience in multiple geophysical techniques including Seismic Refraction, Earth Resistance Tomography and Micro Gravity. Experience of GPR is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate must be able to help with our entire project life-cycle from project design and quoting to data collection and reporting.

A competitive salary package commensurate with experience will be offered to the successful candidate. The position is based in Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire. A full manual driving licence is required.
